Device Recycling & Exchange
Missouri AT offers three programs that assist in providing low-cost assistive technology to individuals with disabilities.
Missouri Assistive Technology's ETC Program now has gently used equipment available! To view the kinds of recycled devices currently available click here: ETC Gently Used Equipment
Missouri Assistive Technology's Swap 'n Shop equipment exchange program is a "classified ads" service that connects people with available adaptive devices or assistive technology! Missouri Assistive Technology provides a listing of equipment that consumers would like to buy, sell, trade or donate at Swap 'n Shop.
Missouri AT Durable Medical Equipment Recycling Program provides low cost, recycled walkers, crutches, canes, commodes, shower chairs, manual and power wheelchairs, positioning equipment and miscellaneous wheelchair parts, i.e. tires, cushions, arm rests, footplates. Small fees are charged to individuals with disabilities based on their ability to pay to obtain adaptive equipment from the recycling program. Donations of equipment are also accepted. For program information, contact David at (816) 655-6703 or david.bkr@att.net.
Missouri AT contracts with nine recycling centers throughout Missouri to provide statewide access to refurbished equipment. Equipment availability and cost may vary from location to location. Several centers are willing to transfer equipment between locations to better meet the needs of Missourians with disabilities and may have online listings of their equipment availability.
